Breaking Bad Vid - Exit Music

Vid Title: Exit Music
Vidder: cylune
Song and Artist: Exit Music (For a Film) by Radiohead
Category: character study
Characters: Walt, Jesse, Skyler
Format/length: wmv / 4.24
Summary: A character study focusing on Walt's transformation throughout the series.

Breaking Bad has become my favorite tv show ever. Therefore I had to make a video. Of course.

This vid focuses on Walt's transformation throughout the series from a decent guy to an awful excuse of a human being. Hope you enjoy it. Comments are my (healthy) addiction so please feel free to let me know what you think. :)

Fantastic. I loved, loved, loved, that you chose the fly image at the end!

Thank you!! I found the fly an appropriate way to end the vid - I had that ending figured out before most of the rest of the vid.

Eeeeee! You vidded BB! I could not be more thankful to have you in this fandom. *hugs*

Needless to say you have not lost your magic touch. This is so beautiful and haunting and (EEeeee!) you used one of my very favourite Radiohead songs too. Really great choice. I know the song was originally written for 'Romeo & Juliet' but it worked perfectly here because a) Breaking Bad has always felt like a Shakespearian tragedy and b) because for me the song is about a desire to escape from the world, a resentment towards the society being left behind and a looming threat of doom for all involved. Which is so evocative of Walter White and everyone who is caught up in his web.

I was in love with this vid from that first transition between Walt's cancer screening and Walt's reflection in the tabletop as he gets his diagnosis. You're so so awesome. The pace of the clips with the music is really sublime. You know exactly when to slow down for quiet creepy moments (like, Walt grasping the bike lock) and when return to the same scene and explode into full on violence (Walt choking Krazy 8 to death). Some other touches that I loved:

The bullet holes and the rain of blue meth on "dry all your tears".
All the shots of the open road or the RV in the desert, echoing the "escape" theme
The slow pan over to Jesse in the trunk on the line "I can't do this alone."
The shot of the yellow tape reading "line not to cross". Gah!! Excellent choice!
Jesse and Skyler's fearful reaction shots to Walt becoming more and more unhinged.
Final chilling shots of Walt downing the tequila and then staring up at the fly.

Thanks so much for making this! You're really inspiring me to go ahead with my 'Handlebars' concept.

Eeeeeee!!!!!!! You've seen it!!!!! I was so eager to know what you thought of it!!

Thank you, thank you, thank your for your feedback. You have such a way with words. I'm so happy that you noticed those little touches. I've spent an awful lot of time selecting what I thought would be the most appropriate clips to use. However, BB is such a visually stunning show that I had plenty of choices.

I've inspired you to go ahead with Handlebars??? woooot!!!!! I'm very happy. :)

Thank you so much again.
