I'd wait jen, it's mostly about Baltar's storyline in season 4... But please come back once you're up-to-date!! ;)

Awesome graphic! Bravo, jelly.

I've watched this vid several times since I downloaded it, lune. It really is a fantastic Baltar study. I love the way you begin with the slow holy images and then build up the chaos and violence, and show the weight of Baltar's guilty burden. You interpret the lyrics brilliantly. The final images are so haunting.

Did you get my 'Colorblind' (Counting Crows) song suggestion for a Gaeta vid? It's the best song I've been able to think of for him. Are you working on any new vids at the moments? *craves*

Thanks so much cappy!

I remember you suggesting Colorblind but I had forgotten... it's really a beautiful song! I love it... I was thinking of a faster paced song for Gaeta but there's so little clips of him available that a slow one might be more appropriate (you can drag the few clips available). Let me listen to it a couple of times to get a good feel to it. But I really, really like it.

As for vids, I have a collaborative project with kajam... it's going to be about New Caprica. Should be fun. :D

Thanks so much for all the encouragements Karolina!! I'm very proud of how that one came out. ;)

Wow. Great choice for a song to use, brilliantly done.

When I heard the song, I couldn't believe how well it suited Baltar's storyline in season 4. Thanks for the nice comment!

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! I'm really satisfied how that vid came out and I'm glad other people are appreciating it too! I <3 Baltar too.

I really enjoyed this. It's great to see a serious Baltar vid, and you managed to not only make it dramatic and tragic, but also unexpectedly creepy. I like the pace that you set in the vid; I felt the end picked up speed really well to highlight the upswing in tempo of the song. Very cool vid, thank you for sharing it.

Thank you! The song's change in tempo was really fun to work with.

Nice job pulling out the more tragic aspects of Gaius storyline. I really enjoy the absurdity that surrounds him, but you pulled off a serious look at him that felt very natural and inclusive. I also really enjoyed how you handled the changes in tempo, both in the beginning and the end. And I adored in particular how you used that shot of him and the Centurion being flung away by the explosion. :D

Thank you! It's quite amazing how a tragic figure like Baltar can also be the comic relief of the show. The comedic aspect was absent in season 2 and 3 but I like how it subtly came back in season 4.

Glad you like the Centurion shot! Took me forever to get the timing right (for a fraction of a second!) Glad it was worth it!

I'm so glad you posted this! I had seen it on YouTube last week and wondered why you hadn't posted here. I like it. It's a bit slow but the pace sort of lets the . . . heaviness of some of the things Baltar has done sink in. But it's also about him trying to make amends too. Very interesting.

Did I hear you are going make a Gaeta vid too? Yippee! Thanks very much for both. :-)

Thank you!! Takes me a little while to post my vid to my journal because I'm outsourcing the graphic making. jellyfrog has been doing my vid graphics for years... it's a tradition. :)

I tried not to get too flashy in this vid - really wanted to focus on the character study instead. Substance over style, if you like. Thanks for commenting!

And yes! I *will* be doing a Gaeta vid. It's a little tricky because for a guy that's been on the show for four seasons, there's not a lot of good vidding clips for him. I had a song in mind but it might not be appropriate after what happened in season four. :( However, falafel_musings just gave me a great song suggestion. Could work!

AH! I'm not sure what I can say b/c I didn't really read the comments but I got the general gist of it. I just wanted to say this was a really amazing video. I liked how you have it synced and the colors and everything....ALL awesome
I'm re-watching BSG with a bit of a Baltar slant and you really used scenes that were important to his character from the beginning. It seemed to have a lot of thought put into it and the song choice was also perfect.
(I'm going favorite on my youtube account....RFN)

Thanks so much! I really tried to select the clips that would show the terrible things he's done as well as his guilt. I don't think he's a 'bad' person but it seems his mistakes & weaknesses always ends up with disproportionate and terrible consequences. An amazing and fascinating character to watch.

That was fantastic!

Hi there! I know this is a while after you posted this, but I wanted to say that I finally got to see this video of yours and really, really loved it. It's a totally chilling and contemplative Baltar character study. I'd never heard the song before, and was really won over to it by the time it got to that lyric about "I'm curious about how you plan to make your amends to the dead" (sic).

I love your use of all the water imagery that has surrounded Baltar throughout the series. Not only is it an interesting thing to call attention to in Baltar's arc, but it's also very appropriate to the sweeping feel of the song in certain places. You use it so well at various times to create a sense of chaos, or of Baltar being overwhelmed by fear and guilt.

The song has such an interesting cool distance to it, and yet also a sense of foreboding throughout. I liked the way you used so many parts where people around Baltar are in highly emotional, even violent states. I am in particular thinking of the all these images of bloody Baltar and his cult in delirious religious ecstasy and of Connor attacking him in the head with the razorblade. The people in those scenes are two very different sides of the coin, but you show this parallel intensity behind all of those people's behaviors - to the point of mania, really. It's even more chilling when juxtaposed with this very calm, almost deadened voice singing the lyrics.

Really well done. One of the best videos I've seen in months. I have downloaded it and will watch it many more times, I know.

Ok, so the last thing I want to say is on a different topic. I feel kind of bad that I had offered to help you find a song for a Gaeta vid you wanted to work on and then basically disappeared after saying I'd send you a list in a few days. Sorry. :( Did you ever find a song? Do you still want any suggestions? I will totally not flake out this time if you do. Promise.

Anyway, great vid! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for that very long and thoughtful review!

The song is by A Perfect Circle, they're well known for their meaningful lyrics. In this case, the song is said to be about someone who found God after committing atrocities but doesn't do anything to make amends. I though it was a perfect song for Baltar, seeing that he uses his newfound faith to be able to live with himself and what he's done. I personally don't think he believes what he's preaching but since it enables him to feel not responsible, it only encourages him.

I'm still looking for a Gaeta-Baltar song! Any suggestions are welcome. My friend falafel_musing found a great Gaeta song though - Colorblind by Counting Crows.

Holy frak. I just discovered this on my harddrive and realized I hadn't watched it yet and... wow. I was totally blown away.

This vid is absolutely gorgeous and completely heart-wrenching. I love the way you build the story and the tension all the way to that final clip of Baltar drowning. Wow.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and the rec at your journal. It made my day!! I feel very proud of this vid and I'm so glad some people are still discovering it.

A while back someone linked me to this on YouTube and I TOTALLY loved it. I didn't realize there was a place to feedback!

I'm a huge Baltar fan and I think this vid is excellent. Perfect clip choices and editing. I first heard this song back in a "Buffy" vid and it's amazing how well it applies here.

I have to admit, I was *so* hoping you'd comment on this vid someday, since I'm such a fan of your work and knowing how much you love Baltar. Thank you so much again!
